Ages 13–18
6 minBy Amatullah "Miss Chi" ShabazzStart records in 9th grade (or earlier for high-school-level courses).
Track for each course:
- Course title and a short description
- Materials or curriculum used
- Grade or evaluation method
- Credit earned (many families use a standard of about 120–150 hours for one credit; confirm what colleges or programs your teen is considering expect)
Also keep:
- Reading lists
- Work samples and test scores
- Activities, volunteering, and jobs
High school rules, including who issues a diploma, differ by state. Check your state guide and ask the colleges or programs your teen is interested in what they need.
