There is no single right model. Many families combine more than one. Independent homeschooling: parents plan and lead learning at home. Most flexible; asks the most of parent time. Co-op: families share teaching, often meeting weekly. Parents usually participate or volunteer. Microschool: a small group led by a teacher or guide, often several days a week. Usually tuition-based. Hybrid program: part-time on-site classes with home learning on the other days. Enrichment programs: classes in a single area, like art, science, or sports, that add to home learning. Questions to ask yourselves: - How much time can a parent give each week? - What does each child need socially? - What is our budget for classes or tuition? - How far are we willing to drive? - Does our state treat these options differently? (Check your state guide and ask programs directly.) Use our directory to find options near you, then visit before you decide.
